  1. If you havent seen the blue man group before, check it out. They are awesome, and have a show in Berlin. Also if you are into the historic sites, check out Checkpoint Charlie. The Brandenberg Gate, the Berlin Wall, Hitler's bunker. also there is a good zoo in Berlin also that is suppose to be phenomanal. Do not go on the tourist boat cruise around the city, it is cheap and shows you sveeral sites, it is slow, boring, and just over all not worth it. Check out some of the Christmas Markets. As far as the Christmas Markets, you should be able to A- find them on your own, because they are everywhere, B- also ask the front desk.

Those are always a good time with the cider, beer, and Brats.

If you do not have a set schedule yet, at the hotel there should be plenty of "flyers" that will try to tempt you to go see.

  2. Was there this summer for 5 days.

Not sure if you've picked a hotel or not.

But heres a hotel in a great location for a great price

Near shopping, and lots of great restaurants.

Just 2 doors down is a beer garden.

2 blocks south is about 10 blocks of boutiques, which is also a great street to catch tour buses also.

Not far from here you can find the famous berlin church that was destroyed during WW II, but they left it there as a reminder.

It's in a square next to a shopping mall, and just across the street from Germany's largest department store KaDeWe.

We ended up at this hotel after I had booked a different hotel.

When we arrived and found the hotel I had booked originally was in a horrible location, and wasn't in good shape for the money, we drove around until we found this gem.

It's also near the zoo, and the train/bus station so getting anywhere else in berlin from here is very easy.

Make sure to try the restaurants just down the street from this hotel, ask the front desk, and they'll recommend them..

Some of the best food I've had in europe.

  3. What a wonderful choice!!!

The Christmas markets begin (coincide with) advent.  Berlin has three big ones and numerous small ones.  For the cheapest bus tour take bus 100 from Zoo to Alexander Platz and then bus 200 back again (cost €2,10).  The same ticket allows you two hours travel in zones A and B but you may not return on the same ticket.  This means that you can get on and off as you please, but you must get a new ticket to come back.  In other words you ought to buy a new ticket to return to zoo from Alexander Platz (I say Ought - but naturally you do not speak German do you!)  Try out http://www.jbb7994.com for loads of more information.

Have a really great time! (I know you will)

  4. It all depends if you prefer seeing the east or the west. I went for the east part when I was there, and saw the sights there. One of the things you must see is the Alexander Platz. Most trams/tubes go there and there is always something to do. Xmas market possibility extremely high. There is another huge mall (sorry I forgot the name) but it's huge. And they always have an outside ice ring and a lovely xmas market too. Then there is the east side gallery which is well worth a visit. I would suggest this website:

    http://www.berlin.de/english/

It has great information which is really easy to read.

    Enjoy your trip!

  5. Go to the street called "KURFUERSTENDAMM" or shortcut "KUDAMM". that is the MAinstreet in westberlin. On there you find everything you would ask for. I would recommend the big coffee house Right in the middle of the street as it is world famous, if you want a nice party location you should try "the big apple". There is nothing not to recommend in Berlin. Berlin Zoo, tons of museums, loads of nice things in the surrounding area. I've been there loads of times and still haven't seen it all...
