How to split a zipped file?

OK, so i took my iTunes library and compressed it on my iMac and i want to move it to my new MacBook.

the compressed file is currently 9.3 GB and my USB only holds 8 GB.

i was wondering if i could split the .zip file into two parts or more and then recombine them on my MacBook?

but it is time consuming to compress 9.3 gb data.

it takes 3 to 5 hours. zip and more times to unzip.

it is beneficial that copy two times or burn DVD.
