I want to spray paint my rims black...like the batman black color. But how do I go about the process? Can I just start spraying on top of the the rims or do i have to do something to the rims first?

  1. depends on what kind of rims you have are they steal or alloy rims? I'm not sure what the batman rims look like but I'm thinking they are probably either anodized OR black crome. if they are just painted steal rims sand blast them tape off and cover the bead area put down a layer of primer then a base coat and then finish off with the paint possible put on layers of clear coat. if they are anodized alloy rims then you need to ether try out the paint system that mimics anodized or take them to an anodize. where he will take your rims and anodize them. if its black crime then they will need to be dipped.

  2. Good Process: Go to an auto parts store and get the brake caliper paint(paint that with stands high temps). Its doesnt peel or crack. Just spray it on.

Better process: Buy sandpaper perferably 800 or 900 grit. Sand those babies down. Next buy cheap can of primer. Spray on let dry over night. Next spray brake caliper paint on, they come in different colors. They should look good if you did it right.

WHATEVER YOU DO DONT SPRAY ON ANY CHEAP CAN OF BLACK SPRAY PAINT. BECAUSE OVER TIME THE BRAKE DUST WILL PERMENATLY BE IMPLANTED IN THE PAINT.......
