How to star up the PC fast

MY PC --using MS XP is very slow when start up almost 10minutes

please help to advice --how to .made it load faster.-

already defragment the dr .

Go to Run (Press Windows Key + R together) and type in 'msconfig' without the quotes. Then in the windows, click on the Startup tab and uncheck the items. Then restart you PC and see the difference.

go to run the ntype in msconfig and then click on start up and uncheck some things like if you have aim, yahoo messenger, myspace etc because you probably too much loading on strat up which slows the computer down. Then do a disk cleanup and disk defragmenter. It helps.

For running slow there are many causes:

Microsoft Registry Problems = Slow Computer!

Spyware/Adware

RAM

De-Fragmenting

Etc.

Below can help you speed up your pc:

For  IE, click Tools, Internet Options  delete files (offline files) clear history (set days to save to 0 if you want) click o.k., and Restart

For Firfox, press ctrl+shift+del, and click clean private data.

Manage your startup:

Open your Start menu  ->  Click Run ->  In the command screen type "msconfig.exe" ->  In the "system configuration utility", click either "service" or "startup" tab ->  Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using.

De-Fragmenting

1. Right click of C Disk.

2. Click properties.

3. Click tools tab.

4. Click "Defragment now".

5. Click Defragment.

You can search which process full use you cpu, and end the process.

Under steps:

1. right click on the TaskBar.

2. click the Task Manager.

3. click the processes tab.

4. double click the CPU.

5. find if the "System Idle Process" is max.

6. if not right click and click end process.

Ten minutes?? I am almost certain you will not have enough RAM memory in your pc for it to load into. You need AT LEAST 512 MB

you might need to buy more RAM

you need to run tha antivirus (safe mode)

you need to delete cookies and files

you need to defragment

you need to run disk check

you need to go to run, then type msconfig then choose staRT UP and uncheck any unessaery programs and your set

one factor that could make the computer slow upon start up is the fact that several applications are told to open upon startup. this could make the computer take longer because those applications take time to start.

another factor is that the computer is just old. old computers have older processors, which makes them generally slower. how old is your computer? i suggest you replace the CPU chip or the RAM.
