I already know how to become a non-profit charity and all about the legal matters. What I need to know is after raising all the money how to you get the money to a specific cause.

The purpose of my charity would be poverty and hunger across the world.

  1. Your donations start from the board and other core supporters. Before you approach any organizations or individuals about donating, the board needs to have donated a substantial amount of the core funds. If the board isn't willing to donate funds, other donors won't.

The board also should be responsible for raising a certain amount of money themselves, from their business connections, friends, etc. They need to meet, set a goal for how much each is required to raise, and then engage in activities to raise those funds.

Raising the rest of your money? That's going to come from making lots and lots of presentations, showing why your organization exists, how it will operate, how its work will be measured for success, how it will deliver its services, what its budget will be for the first year, etc. You make these presentations to various government agencies and corporations and businesses in your area that might be interested in giving.

If your board and core supporters are really committed to this endeavor, they will be ready to make the connections locally to raise the money needed for this endeavor.
