I want to build a pond, about 150 feet long and 50 feet wide to raise catfish, bass, and crappie in. How deep should it be? How do I get water in it? Where do I get the fish? How long before I can start fishing in it? Thanks for the input!

  1. Sounds like a great project, I have heard of people hiring landscaping contractors to dig their ponds, however I would not imagine it could be that difficult. If you need a pump set up or solar powered aerator check out my site,

  2. I dont know how deep it should be, but it should start to fill with water once you hit the water table. The depth of that depends on where you live and whats under your land (sand, bedrock etc)

I think you can mailorder  fish, but thats gonna take an awful long time for them to get big enough for you to want to start catching them. You could juts go to a local lake, catch some there and bring them home. (thats whay I would do, cuz I'm too cheap to buy them)
