How to start a good biography?

I'm writing a biography about my favorite teacher and i can't think of any good ways to start it off! i don't want to use the boring old jane doe was born in paris, france on January 1, 1956!! i want to start the first sentence out with a bang! any suggestions?

Well say an interesting quote she always used to say. Or say a bad habit of hers she used to do. Maybe it's swearing? "****!" ---That oughta get the readers attention, haha.
