1) Determine what product or service that you want to offer to the market. Note that you need to find the niche of your product or service that makes it unique in the market. Or otherwise you are wasting your energy to fight against the other giants in the market

2) Conduct the market research regarding to your product or service. Determine the your potential customers. Determine your positioning in the market. Determine your competitors. Determine your financing. Determine your business form (sole trader, company, partnership etc.)

3) Get connected to other people and build up your networking. This will give you pathway to success

4) Plan your marketing tactics based on your market research. Which media is the best one for your business? Who are your target market?

5) Don't give up mate.

pray alot, get money a lot, work a lot, keep working keep working keep working, and then keep working.

best way to know how to do it without going to school for it is to pick up a textbook on small business mgt. and read that from cover to cover.  check out the book buying sites such as amazon, bn.com, bookbyte.com, and other textbooks sites, you can usually just search under college book buyback etc...and find what you need for pennies on the dollar for new ;) save you some money so you can spend a lot on your new business!  Good luck

The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.

I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.

Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can. Here are some book titles that are relevant:
