  1. Don't.

If you don't know HTML, CSS, Flash, et cetera well enough to make a web page I doubt you will be able to code myspace layouts.

  2. why bother?

there are already 4895734958734 sites for that....

    my favorite is this one

    http://abrax.us/bbz/

so how is the search for a generator generator going, stevie?

    learn any php yet?

  3. Do you have value to add?

Are you going to offer something that is not already available.

Are you a good coder, in that you can come up with code that is better or does something different, than the code already being offered?

Are you going to offer something equivalent to what is already available, in an easier to use setting (such as a page without any irritating pop up or noise ads, where one can easily and quickly find the needed content?).  If this is your goal, are you certain it is ok for you to offer other people's content, in your own value-added format?

IF you answered Yes to the above, then starting your own site might be a worthy thing to do.

I recommend starting with a free service, that allows you to put ads, with your own adsense account, on the page.

This service also allows for users to comment and ask questions.

    www.blogger.com

    It is run by google.

    They are credible.

Then if your site becomes very popular, then maybe branch out with your own url.

blogger does not allow any php.

javascript can be used, but only in the template (you can put the functions in the template and call them from the blog entries).

I also know of a site, that is offering free space to people, who want to do this sort of thing.

You  have to put 2 of their ad banners on the page, but they are adsense (not the popup invasive type of c**p found on most pages).

This leaves room for one more of your own.

She does require that you update your page 2x per week.

But I am not sure if trust her, because I know she has stolen content on her site.  I am still trying to decide on this one.

IF all you are going to do is take the same code, hundreds (maybe thousands) of other sites have hijacked to offer on their own sites, then I don't think you should start one.

But if you have some value added to offer, I would disagree with the previous two answers, and encourage you to start a site.
