Well, my name is Sean and I have been using computers since I was 7 or 8 years old. About 6 years ago I started programming and people took notice to my ability to learn and create my own software.

I began fixing neighbors computers once in a while for free, and recently had a good friend's father ask for help and he paid me a thousand bucks. I was in awe. I have never even seen that much money in my hands.

I said that I felt bad and he said for all that I did, it was worth 3000 and that I should take it. So I did.

Now, I am 22 years old. I got a GED because I was too rebellious to finish high school, and no college.

PC wise, I can do anything.

How, if it's possible, do I get out there? How do I make money doing this? How do I legalize that and if possible, where do I start?

I appreciate all the help!!

  1. Bill Gates dropped out of college so you can do this.  A local guy charges $300 to set up a website and he does one a day.  It took a year for his name to spread.  Just tell everyone you know about your venture. And ask a reporter at the local newspaper if she will interview you. She will. /

  2. Go to college, get a degree in computer science or engineering.

The problem is now days there are a lot of people who can do basic/adv repairs because the the current generation growing up with computers.  The demand is lower.  You will have a hard time competing with geek squad.

You are not going to find people willing to pay 1000 to fix their computer, most computers aren't even worth a 1000 today.

If you don't want to go to college you can place some ads on the internet or craigslist for local computer help.  You can maybe charge 100 bucks to fix one, you have to be much cheaper than a store because you will provide no guarantees.
