  1. Don't jump into the main subject right away. That always irritates the young ones who aren't studious - which makes most of the class. Initiate an interest by asking a question that happens in daily life. And then link it with something they least expect. You have to induce curiosity and interest first.

    I looked up insects and wolbachia. I find this part very intriguing 'Within arthropods, Wolbachia is notable for significantly altering the reproductive capabilities of its hosts.' - wiki

    So, i'm gonna say.. talk about this first and then bring all other info one by one into your lesson.

    When talking about science-stuff, never ever get excited over terms and what not that stimulates an adult's grey matter. Always keep up with the level, nature, mood and understanding of your class. Yet that never means you have to stoop to their level - most teachers make that mistake. Oh! and bring in pictures... they do wonders.
