How to start breeding with your own stallion

they are registered horses etc, I am after information on protocols to bring mares to the property, their cycle etc, info on natural and assisted serving any thing else that would be wise to tell owners before coming

  1. Can you give some more information as to what part of breeding you want to know about? If you're after registration information contact your breed authority (eg the arab society). Do you want to know how to paddock serve or handserve? Do you want to know when to start breeding? Are you after information as to how to advertise him? etc...?


  2. Unless the stallion is pure bred and an amazing specimen of his breed, you shouldn't be breeding him.

    If he isn't registered and isn't an amazingly put together horse, then he should be gelded.

    Check with the breed registry of the horse to find more information and a list of breeders in your area.
