How to start learning ethical hacking?

Now before you answer let me say hacking is not illegal, or is learning how to.Cracking is breaking into things and doing bad stuff, i don't want to do those things.

now i know you have to learn programming languages but which ones do you need to learn.and do real hackers use programs to help them.

And how do you tie it all together

go to youtube ..enter hacking whatever into the search, allot of them make viruses from making batch files, its interesting to watch but nah, its not what i would do.
