How to start out writing as a hobby ???

Someone told me, to become a writer you have to do 3 things:

Write, write, write!

I have been doing so for over the period of 5 years. I started by writing 2 to 3 page travel diary every time I got back from a trip. Send it to my friends and get a feed back on it. Then I stated writing about every day things that made me laugh or cry. Like my favorite stories is about my broken car, and the adventures of driving it.

What I suggest is that you start writing about everything that catches your eye. Start light, don’t get into strong subjects like politics or religion, but rather about the guy you buy newspapers every day, or your (eg. People at the subway)…

Try to form a picture about somebody just by observing them and put it on paper.

This is how I started. Now I have a column in one of the online magazines in my country. I simply write about everything that catches my attention. And remember, practice makes perfect. So what are you waiting for, all you have to do is: Write, write, write…

You should start a journal. You should visit www.helium.com You post your articles online and will receive money from advertising companies. It's not big money but it will get your name out there. Good luck.

Get a blog. (blogger.com or Wordpress.com) And write about whatever you want. You will have people reading it getting yourself exposure and practice.

Bring a small notepad and a pen which can suit in your pocket. Then what ever you see just make a note in your little notepad. It doesnt matter if you write it short. make it as simple and as comfortable for yourself. Lastly, share with your family or friends for your record..e.g. hey! i saw a pig cross the road today. Just simple like that...

just keep a journal for urself and make sure u write in it everyday about anything you want and eventually writing will become second nature to you.
