Question:

How to start running?

I'm 10st3 and 5ft4 and want to lose a bit of weight, i tried running the other day (i already do a lot of walking) but i could barley run for 2 mins before being so out of breath i had to stop! is there any way to get into it and keep going?

  1. If you are already doing a lot of walking

    then you should be in pretty good shape.

    I would start by jogging, go as slowly as you can.

    Set time limits for yourself as in, I will run for five minutes

    and walk for ten.  Or you can set limits in distance if you

    are running on the street. You can say to yourself

    "I will run till i get to that blue house."  If you make it to your

    limit, good for you!  if you don't, don't be hard on yourself

    just do your best and try again!  :)

    be sure to hydrate your body as much as possible.  

    Also, stretching is very important.  Be sure to do it before

    and afterwards (at least a little).

    Another thing to keep in mind is "No Pain,  No Gain"

    sometimes when we think we can't keep going,

    we really can. So, next time you feel like stopping try going

    just a teeny tiny bit more and see what happens.

    It gets easier.


  2. Run slowler and for shorter dist. and slowly build up. And I don't know about you but running on a treadmill is really hard for me and I hate it cause it slows my times alot.
