How to start you own website for blogging?

I mean i want it to be just my site where i don't have to pay someone to keep it up for me i run it at my house with a server and everying so where do i get the software to do this at and how do i do it

Try http://www.wordpress.com it's a free blogging provider. And if you happy with it, you can upgrade to a more powerfull blog which is cost you some extra cash...  I think it's the best blogging provider I've ever see.

There are loads of good sites like piczo or bebo. But if you want your own .com site then there is a good package called Mr.website which gives you one. If you are just starting then i would recommend piczo.com.
