How to stay awake in my 2 1/2 hr college statistics class except.............?

Question

caffeine, sleeping early, taking drugs and by the way I'm working 6pm- 10:30pm I can't quit or drop my classes because my mom is strict whats harder is I ride my bike and I catch the bus everyday because I'm new here in America(I only got the drivings permit but not the license)and I also need to wake up at 5am bus arrives at 7:16 stat class start 7:30 last class ends in 3:50 bus arrives at 5:25 and I need to hurry going to work at 6:00pm

I am in a similar situation, balancing 30+ hours of work and going to school full time. A little caffiene can help, but too much will hurt your concentration. Learn to take advantage of small breaks to regather yourself. Even if it means missing a few moments of class by "zoning out". Take advantage of any opportunities to sleep or take a brief break. The human mind and body can do incredible things, but if you push youself too hard your performance will suffer.

Try to schedule EVERTHING you can in advance and make the best of your time. Use time on the bus to study, etc.

Many proffessors will be understanding if you explain your situation (sometimes employers too, but not always).

Wow, you are a busy person. Find a friend in your class. He or she can pinch you if you fall asleep (worse case scenario), or you both can share notes if your attention wanders. Having a friend in class tends to make things more interesting, as does having a love interest. If you can't find a friend, find someone cute to sit next to or behind, and that might help you a little.

It sounds like you're taking on too much. Have you thought about just working on the weekends? I just finished statistics and it takes a lot than what you're giving it for study, etc. As well as paying attention in class you need to go to bed and get 8 hours sleep to stay awake. Good luck.

I agree with 'avatar'. You're going to make yourself ill, apart from anything else. And you say your mom is strict, but surely you are old enough to make up your own mind by now ;)
