i have the amp screwed to the back of the rear seats, plenty of room around the outside, i was told to remove my parcelshelf so hot air can escape and create an air flow circuit?

  1. Make sure it has at least 2 inches all around it for ventilation, perhaps install heat sinks to the case to increase the surface area heat can escape from. Remove the paint from the area you want to install the heat sink, apply some computer CPU heat paste to the area and, if you can, s***w the heat sink to the case. Another way is to get a computer fan and install this by making a square hole in the case of the amp, s******g the fan in, and plugging into the supply for the amplifier, make sure the airflow is out of the case and there are holes in the sides for the cool air to enter. Try plugging it in after the remote switch on module so it will not run when the amp is off. Computer fans are 12 volt too so this is good for cars.

Also do not mount the amplifier in an enclosure, make sure it can breathe!!

  2. Turn it down. Reduce the load. Does the resistance of your speaker match the resistance of the amp? Force cool the amp by placing a 12V computer fan to blow air over it.
