How to stop a lawnmower that has a broken cable?

how do you stop a lawnmower that wont stop because the cord snapped

First of all, I hope that it has stopped by now, by running out of gas.

If it's the safety cable that broke and did not stop the engine and it has a choke on it,turn choke on and it will flood engine and stop. If you have

very tall grass push it faster than normal so it will stall the engine.

After getting it stopped, take it to a repair shop , and have it fixed

as this is a dangerous problem.
