Question:

How to stop bending my legs in a backhandspring???!!!!!!?

I am a cheerleader, a flyer and a tumbler. I had my backhandspring pretty good, but i stopped doing it for awhile, i can still do it, but i need to bring my legs together. can anybody help me??

  1. i have the same problem, my coach told me to point my toes and just focus on that and watching your hands as you come around. And since them they've been sooooo much better! I used to feel like i had NO energy but then i got myself together and pushed myself to do it. =)


  2. Try not to throw your head back, it straightens out your body.  and just keep your body tight. ummm thats all i can think of. Oh and point your toes, somtimes that helped me. and just do it over and over and over, and you'll get it right (=

  3. At my gym, we get a piece of foam and put it between your legs (knee/ankle area, everyone likes it in a different spot) and try and keep the foam there while doing the trick. If your not tight and your legs separate, the foam will go flying. It's a good method in my opinion.

  4. I would say to stay straighter, and not throw your head and shoulders back, and to wait until your arms come to your head to throw back. but I used to have my feet on my butt I bent my knees so much! I just kept doing them, and I practiced bhs rebounds
