How to stop binge eating ?

I am really worried I am develping a binge eating disorder ... well actually i'm really confused. I mean people who have these disoreders say they eat lk 12 000 cals a day or something and I have never done that. In fact I don't think that i have ever eaten over 3000 calories in a day especially without purging afterwards.

but when i've started eating i can't stop and it scares me. i think i'm gonna get really fat and unhealthy and i want to stop this before i end up making it much worse!! thanx in advance x*x

  1. See a therapist. Honestly, they can give you better advice than anyone here.


  2. If you can clear the house of any foods that will cause you to gain. Raw veggies are okay but fruits do carry calories. Sweets, junk food and colas are bad. Purging is extremely bad as you can actually do physical damage to yourself and I have heard of people actually dying from thinking they are fat when they aren't. They keep purging and it causes weight and othe vital losses.

  3. Are you binge-eating or overeating? (Binge-eaters eat in spurts, overeaters eat consistently large amounts).

    Either way - speak to someone. Get a counsellor. It seems like you have some issues with control, and you will be much happier when you've addressed them.

  4. it depends what kind of food you are eating. if you can fill up on healthy foods, fruit, veg, you can eat a bit, and "graze" all day,

    if you can step up your exercise, you can burn off food you have eaten too.

    If you need to speak to someone, try your doctor, or Overeaters Annoymous..

    Do try to keep control... you can do it... or join a slimming club like Weight Watchers? slimming world.

    There are other people just like you out there.
