How to stop cyberbullying with my 17-year-old daughterr?

My 17-year-old is being bullied on MySpace by some girls at her school. How can I stop this horrific torture?

You mean she doesn't know how to set her settings to private?  Give me a break.  I would suggest deleting her My Space account then and not getting another one until she knows how to use the privacy features and how NOT to allow just anyone on her friends list.

Check with your school board. Our district just passed a no tolerance policy on bullying and it covers cyber bullying. If that doesn't work you could try to talk to the parents of hte other girls. Try to print out th epages where she is bullied so they can't be deleted. This is a horrible problem and it really needs to be stopped.

Have her block these girls on myspace so they can't contact her.

You can also go to the police as well or keep her off the computer.

Talk to the principal or their parents and see what can be done.

Confront the parents of these girls. If that doesn't stop the problem then report their abuse on the myspace section for reporting abuse. It'll eventually stop.

Well, I would keep her off myspace. If u don't soon, this will go on forever! I would also confront the kids parents and talk with your kid.

ok there can be 2 options to do here:

1) block these girls and never hear of them again

                                        or

2) fight back and teach them a lesson( this is not best option but worked for me)

why dont you block the user? what you do is have her go to the page of the person who is bullying her and block them...another thing she can do is she can cancel the account and redo the account! try it!

She needs to remove those girls from her page or friends list. Then if it esalates to school report to the principal.

In Massachuasetts they are trying to pass a law about cyber bullying. There was a girl who killed herself after being cyber bulliedon mysapce....not sure where you are from though. You could just report it to the cops as harrassment...not sure how much it will help her though.

Cancel her myspace account right now!!!  This could be very serious becuase not too long ago a girl commited suicide just cuz of stupid people on myspace.  Sit down and talk to her about how she feels.  If this goes on any further then tell the school principal, you have to do something about it.  Good Luck and God Bless:)
