How to stop/eliminate static from Sirius radio in car???

When I got my Sirius installed in my car, it worked fine, the next day there was lot's of static!! Ahh! But it works fine from the boombox. I had it professionally installed too. Is it the antenna?

  1. It sounds like you're broadcasting from your Sirius reciever and through your radio, on station like 88.1 FM. Is that correct? It's really easy to interfere with radio signals when you hook up your Sirius this way. It could be anything, try adjusting the antenna, both you car antenna and the Sirius antenna. You might also choose a different station to receive the signal on. Remember the station should be free and clear of signals from an existing radio station. You could be picking up signals from one of those existing radio stations, which would compete with your Sirius signal.

    You'll get the strongest signal if you simply hardwire your Sirius receiver directly into you car radio. This can be very simple and you won't know the difference from a regular radio statio.
