Question:

How to stop falling when you know you are going to?

This happens sometimes when the road is slippery. You are walking on ice and suddenly you feel that you're slipping. You know that you're about to fall in a few seconds. Can you do anything right now aside from directing where you land?

  1. A good thing to do might be to lower your center of gravity. If you really have "a few seconds," you may want to simply crouch down and stabilize yourself. You'll be down, but you won't have fallen...

It's true that the act of crouching down may cause you to fall even faster, and it's also true that trying to regain your balance is something words here can't describe to you. If you know how to skate or ride a bicycle, you'll know that it's easier to keep your balance while moving rather than staying still. But if the road isn't /all/ slippery, purposefully sliding across might not work, and it arguably takes a bit of skill

Hey, I guess you can always go get those shoes with spikes on the bottom, lol
