  1. You may as well try to teach them how to stop a hurricane.  You cant stop global warming.  It is a natural event that will just follow its course.

As a teacher and adult you should really understand better what is going on.  It is NOT global warming that is the issue.  It is humans effect upon the environment.  We have been talking about it sense the 60's.  It's pretty simple stop over population, misuse of natural resources and pollution.  Nothing new.

  2. Your school is global warming???? Oh you need tips... Tips are to recycle and not use ethanol, buy organic food, and such,,,

  3. How about not trying to brainwash the next generation with a bunch of pseudo-science?

  4. Jello that was funny as h**l. Well anyways, if you really want to brainwash them Ctistmas-Girlz, start by telling them to believe everything they hear. Then tell them global warming is real and all that bullshit. Then tell them to stop farting.

  5. Tough question, we need to know the cause 1st. While we can say for sure that the mean temperature of the earth has been rising for the last 100 years or so (anything before that we did not have global data so we can't say for sure if the planet itself is warming or not -- ice cores are point data not global so that's not an argument) we can't say that the variation is outside of the earth's norm. If it's not outside of the earth's norm, than the temperature changes are normal and there is nothing you can do about it.

Saying that rising CO2 is the cause is disingenuous. Correlation does not equate causation. Remember pirates have been in the decrease in the last 100 years, maybe we need more pirates to fight global warming.

  6. 11) get those girls into proper careers, they will have less kids.

  7. Your school needs to stop listening to its liberal leaders and start thinking for themselves.

  8. Have them trade their Big Wheels in for more efficient Little Wheels.

Instead of giving them trucks to play with in the sandbox, give them little cars and have them play on the driveway.

Don't have them do to much running, as that causes them to expel greater amounts of co2.  The are more efficient at lower speeds.

  9. There is no global warming. We haven't had at or above normal temps in WOW ( I can't remember the last time now ).

    This is STUPID!

  10. I'm glad your interested unlike some people. I have no tips, except for carpooling, biking,  and stuff like that. I just anted to applaud you on your efforts, to help our Eco-system!

  11. study current events to determine the average temperature for the last 10 or 20 years or so, then compare that temperature to the average temp for 2008.

this will teach them not to believe politically correct propaganda & that they are able to think for themselves instead of relying on incorrect common knowledge & popular fads.

or you can hide the truth & present your own personal opinion as fact like other teachers do.

this will lead them to distrust & disrespect authority figures when they discover the truth & make them more self reliant later in life.

  12. Here's my tip.  Don't accept man-made global warming as a proven fact.  Nothing could be farther from the truth.  There are too many holes and assumptions in the fear-based science.  Try focusing your project on the fact that global warming could be the result of natural occurances in the cycle of the earth. Use facts like 1000 years ago there was a global warming that lasted a couple hundred years where Vikings were growing crops in Greenland, which today is one big glacier.  There is more than enough evidence out there to support an argument for naturally occuring warming.  You just need to look past what the news and mainstream media outlets are saying.

  13. when teaching little children you need to talk about things that affect them..if you start spewing about science and such they will lose interest fast. here are some suggestions,

    1. turn off the water when brushing your teeth

    2. take shorter showers and/or use less water when bathing.

    3. dont litter

    4. recycle

There are many more also...try and make it fun for the kids so they stay interested and really connect with what your saying. Maybe talk about how polar bears are dying because their ice is melting, or something children will enjoy. Makeit fun, make it funny, good luck!

  14. Turn off lights when you leave a room.  When waiting in a car don't leave the motor running.  Turn thermostats down at night in the winter and up at night in the summer.  Use solar powered yard lights instead of AC.  If you celebrate christmas use the LED type lights.

  15. go to junkscience.com for REAL science on the issue.

  16. 1. Always turn off the lights when exiting a room

    2. Take shorter showers using less hot water

    3. Use a clothsline to dry cloths instead of a dryer

    4. Respect the environment

    5. Don't litter

    6. Recycle anything possible

    7. Carpool

    8. Eat less meat

    9. Plant a tree

    10. Teach kids more about environmental science

  17. okay here are some easy things that will make a big difference:

    change light bulbs to fluorescent.

    live in a smaller house.

take hand-me-downs from older siblings/cousins and try not to buy 'new' stuff.

goodwill has some cute purses, jackets, plates, clothes and you'll be recycling

get a job close to home (less gas)

    ride the bus (less gas)

pay your bills online (less paper wasted!)

instead of air conditioners open your windows

Ask the Experts For An Energy Audit of Your Home

    Check the Label

Energy Star, a rating system by the Environmental Protection Agency

Approved products can be pricier, but they cost less to power.

By using Energy Star appliances at home, consumers can reduce their utility bill as much as 30%.

    Skip the Steak

Which is responsible for more global warming: your BMW or your Big Mac? Believe it or not, it's the burger. The international meat industry generates roughly 18% of the world's greenhouse-gas emissions—even more than transportation—according to a report last year from the U.N.'s Food and Agriculture Organization.

    Say No to Plastic Bags

    Plant a bamboo fence

Bamboo makes a beautiful fence, and because it grows so quickly (as much as 1 ft. a day or more, depending on the species), it absorbs more CO2 than, say, a rosebush.

    Shut off your computer

A screen saver is not an energy saver. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, 75% of all the electricity consumed in the home is standby power used to keep electronics running when those TVs, DVRs, computers, monitors and stereos are "off." The average desktop computer, not including the monitor, consumes from 60 to 250 watts a day. Compared with a machine left on 24/7, a computer that is in use four hours a day and turned off the rest of the time would save you about $70 a year. The carbon impact would be even greater. Shutting it off would reduce the machine's CO2 emissions 83%, to just 63 kg a year.

    Wear green eye shadow

Bright green may not be in this season, but eco-friendly makeup has trend written all over it. In February, Cargo Cosmetics launched PlantLove, a botanical lipstick packaged in a 100% biodegradable tube made of polylactic acid—a corn-based renewable resource. When the tube is empty, plant it in the ground, and it sprouts flowers. The product represents only a sliver of the $50 billion industry in the U.S., but it's growing fast. The market for organic personal-care products will increase more than 8% this year.

    Check Your Tires

Just giving your engine a tune-up can improve gas mileage 4% and often much more. Replacing a clogged air filter can boost efficiency 10%. And keeping tires properly inflated can improve gas mileage more than 3%. The bottom line? If you can boost your gas mileage from 20 to 24 m.p.g., your old heap will put 200 fewer pounds of CO2 into the atmosphere each year.

    plant a tree

    get a hybrid car
