  1. Hi Lydia..

If it is clumping, it m be time to replace it.  Does it feel dry when you put it on?  Is it already clumped on the brush?  Try cleaning off the brush.  When applying mascara, never "pump" the wand into the tube.  What you want to do is twist it open, then almost "scrape" the inside of the tube with the wand.  And mascara, like all makeup, is best when put on in layers.  Start lightly and build.  And when applying it to your lashes, start at the root, and wiggle it up to the end  This may help with some of the clumping.  Stay away fro lengthening since you have long lashes.  Also, maybe try a new color, like a brown which wont make the lashes as dramatic, therefore minimizing the clumpy look.  Hope any of this helped - good luck (and cool question!  Interesting to read all the tips from fellow women!!)

  2. to put it on evenly and prevent clumping, get a business card and put it on top of your eyelid so when you open yoru eyes, you apply mascara on your eyelashes against the business card so that they can be applied evenly because the brush touches the surface of the business card.

Watch this video: this girl demonstrates it in the middle of her make-up tutorial. Its a smart idea and it really works!

Also, it is best not to open and close the mascara tube too frequently otherwise it dries a bit and makes it easier to clump.

GOOD LUCK! Hope it helps :)

  3. aww.. try rubbing some baby oil on your lashes.. carefully.. or it could be your brush hun..

  4. look for mascara that says lengthining instead of thickening.

and an eyelash comb comes in handy

  5. You could try different types of mascara, i really like Maybellines lash stylist, or you could curl them before applying mascara.

Also, applying too much mascara doesn't help.

  6. It sounds weird, but separating them with a needle or pin works REALLY well. Just mind you don't poke your eye out.

  7. Things You’ll Need:

        * One tube of lengthening mascara

        * One tube of volumizing mascara

    Step1

First, apply one coat of lengthening mascara; it's a thinner formula than the volumizing kind, so you won't get a lumpy start. Separate your eyelashes with a metal-toothed lash comb afterward.

    Step2

For your second coat, put on a volumizing mascara. Get really close to your lash bed, wiggling the wand right in there to avoid depositing too much gunk on the ultrafine ends. It also helps if you sweep the brush from side to side as you move your hand upward.

    Step3

Dried-up color always looks clmupy. Buy a new tube at least every 2 months.

  8. If you've got an old mascara brush, clean it and then use it like a comb to brush out the clumps.
