  1. your son is 9 and he steals? thats kind of funny. scare him though show him a jail cell and have the police like put him in one just so he could see what its like. that would scare him.

  2. more to the question thanks for the 5 points.

  3. Just fill his head with over exaggerated things that happen to children who steal but be nice about it, that should scare the living day lights out of him and he won't even want to think or dream about stealing.

My mom used to tell me that children who steal get locked away in a dungeon filled with creepy crawlies, that worked with me = )

  4. First you need to find out why he's doing it. Is he trying to impress friends? Is it out of pure greed? Or could there be a deeper issue?   There are complusion disorders which people steal without even realizing it, and they need professional help to stop. You might want to talk to a child psychologist.

  5. Let him get arrested that will scare him

  6. u need to put him over ur knee for a very long spanking and then ground him and if that dont work spank him until he gets it through his head that u will beat his @$$ until he stops stealing

  7. needs more you can keep things out of reach when shopping though.

  8. go to the police or something and get professonal help

  9. Well not alot of info here but  have you spoke to the teacher about the problem? Also have you a church you go to as somtimes the pastor or the priest might be able to help you.If all else fails then theres allways counseling to get to the bottom of the problem before he gets any older. And set and talk with him in a quiet time just the two of you .Are there other children in the house ?perhaps he is trying to get attention.Well besf of luck to you .

  10. Every time he takes something that doesn't belong to him - make him donate one of his video games, the video game unit or any other really "nice" thing he has to charity.

  11. Beat his a$$

  12. A good consequense for stealing is to have your son personally return the stolen items to the place/person and have him write an apology letter to them.

Another good consequense is to involve a local authority.  Have him go on a "fake arrest".   If you know of an off-duty police officer they love doing these sorts of things.  The local school system or community group would have resources for you.

Sometimes instead of punishments, children need logical consequenses so they can actually learn from their mistakes.
