How to stop pages going yellow/brown?

okay you know the spine of the pages (not the book) I meen like the sides of the pageslike the edges well I bought about 10 books around christmas time 2 years ago and now that im cleaning up my bookshelf ive noticed that the page edges are now a weird yellowey colour, no longer pure white..any help? how can I stop this with books that I buy in the future? thanks

  1. I've found that bleaching and ironing them regularly seems to do the trick.


  2. Keeping the books out of sunlight might help.  All books do this, but two years is pretty fast.  The Library of Congress has some tips on caring for books (see link)  

  3. I agree with the previous answers.

    But sometimes, unfortunately, it only depends on the quality of the paper - there's nothing you can do about it.....
