Question:

How to stop people stealing my office items

I am out of office in the first half of the day and when I come in the afternoon, sometimes I find my network or power cables are stolen.

My office management could not do anything about it. The thief is one among our office staff who requires a power cord or network cable etc. I need to stick a Note with a nice wording that can pin them down very decently.

  1. This may seem a bit drastic, but you could take the cords and hide them so they don't get taken.

But I don't see why they would need to take yours unless they don't have any or theirs don't work.

If you are able to figure out who took them, you need to talk to him/her and let them know that this sort of behavior is not okay.

  2. Office management can't do anything about it? that's probably where the culprit looms.

  3. set up a trap for them.. in that way maybe they'll get the idea that you know they're stealing from you ..also you can put up a note.. but whats the point putting a note they'll just harrass you, threaten you etc.. just ignore it, dont get another cable cord or whatever they steal from you.. go to the manager and tell them that you cant do your job without the cable cord or whatever they steal from you... good luck hope this help you...

  4. Perhaps you can find a way to mark your property with a marker. Then tell everyone that someone has borrowed something of yours and search for it.  Then, nail the chump who has been stealing rom you.

  5. Cameras never tell lies. Installed a hidden camera secretly. Relax and lay back comfortably. Let the play begins!
