How to stop punching like a girl?

iam right handed and whenever i punch with my left hand it feels very awkward. ive been practicing punching with my left hand but still feels awkward. how do boxers overcome this is there any special techniques?

  1. UHHHH. well do you put your whole body into your punch. Power comes from the legs and hips

    you got to push your shoulder in towrds the punch using our hips and stablizing your self with your legs start with the fist up blocking your face and punch it straight out and then move you hips into it.


  2. Well, I am not professional boxer but I am novice. If you are right handed that can punch hard, your left handed probably not respond from the PNS (Peripheral Nervous System). It is similar as you write your right handed to write but your left handed cant write clear. It is same as your left handed. You can go practice with your left handed. When you punch your right handed to someone, your left handed may increase energy to respond to punch after right handed. I believe you are not fighting acting like a girl. Boxers have problem techniques and we are having too. Don't worry about your fighting level. I encouraged believe you are very strong boxer. You can practice with your boxer trainer.  Godd luck for you.

  3. just keep practicing, im right handed and i used to have some difficulity throwing my left but i kept practicing until i got the hang of it and now i feel very comfortable throwing it .. so it all comes with practicing and do it with the right technique.. good luck

  4. Keep your left hand to block in boxing.  And also it will come in handy to atleast learn some jabs with your left hand, just in case your opponent thinks hes got a good read on you.

  5. There are girls that can punch harder than guys....and Im pretty sure I could punch harder than you. LOL!!

  6. Learn technique and practice.  Sounds like  you may be arm punching.  Use your shoulder and legs and rotate your torso as you punch, and you'll stop swinging like a sissy.  Video tape yourself on the heavy bag and let us take a look at what you're doing, or, best yet, get a trainer.

  7. go to a boxing gym and work with a trainer. if you continue to train on your own you will continue to develop bad habits and possibly hurt yourself
