whenever i want to cook something with a skillet like turkey burger or chicken my whole house will get filled with this smoke that i think is evaporated olive oil? there is a fan above my stove but obviously it doesn't do its job!

i end up taking a fan and opening a door hoping it'll go away. it takes a long time.

do you have any suggestions?

or maybe where placing a fan might help? idk where to place it.

  1. Turn your fire down. Olive oil doesn't need to be heated on high. If your food/pan is smoking, then you have it too high. Frying or sauteeing shouldn't have smoke.

  2. Try using a cooking spray instead of olive oil.  Keep your temperature medium to low while cooking.  It sounds like you're getting the oil too hot, which is causing it to smoke.
