Question:

How to stop water going up nose when swimming?

Whenever I try and put my face in/head under water when swimming, it gets up my nose and hurts really badly. I've noticed this doesn't seem to a problem for the majority of people, so I guess it's something I'm doing wrong. Any ideas what and how I should prevent it? It is stopping me from swimming properly and efficiently!

PS I don't want to wear a nose plug if I can help it!

  1. umm breath out through your nose or plug it with your hand.

  2. it wont come naturly at first but you can blow the air you take from your breath and blow it out of your nose. It just takes practice. Good Luck!

  3. blow your nose out when you go under

  4. The only way is nose plugs. There is really no other effecive means of stopping water from going up your nose.

  5. blow your nose under water, and you should see bubbles, slowly so that you will have enough breath.

    hopes this helps,
