Question:

How to store banana peppers?

Excuse me if this is a stupid question, but I bought a huge glass jar of banana peppers (you know how they come in a glass jar w/ juice), and they must be refrigerated after opening. The jar is too large for my fridge, so I will have to put them in smaller containers. So I am wondering if banana peppers w/ juice MUST be stored in glass, or can I put them in plastic jars?

Thanks in advance.

  1. As long as the container is airtight, they should work fine stored in the refrigerator.

  2. plastic would probably be okay if it does not smell of any other foods.  Plastic takes on other tastes and smells so what ever you use for your peppers will not be able to be used for anything else unless you bleach the heck out of it, but plastic should work fine.

  3. try glass, its what they sell them in, so they'll probably stay fresh longer in glass.
