If your studying for physics, math or chemistry, you have to practice a lot solving word problems days before the exam. Study at least a week before the exam so that you don't have to cram. Also, just try to listen to everyday discussion in class so that you don't have to study a lot before the exam. In memorizing, try to attach the terms to words that are significant/familiar to you so that you can remember them. Also, try to write important points in a separate sheet of paper so that you will not forget this point. If you are already cramming, don't stay up too late so that you can perform well in the exam. Focus on the things that you can't understand and just scan the things that you already understand.
