I loaned them a certain amount of money off of my mortgage, and now it seems as if they do not want to pay me back. Where can I get some more info on -line as to what I can do with this situation? We are both in California.

  1. Go to lawguru.com and post your question. Did you have a contract?

  2. go tp small claims court or judge judy.

  3. If someone is refusing to pay back a loan of more than $60,000, it sounds like you're going to need some advice from a lawyer, not from Yahoo Answers!

  4. Gather all paperwork associated with this loan, to prove what you are saying is true. The paperwork should include any signed agreements, withdrawal slips, emails, letters, etc. Make copies of this paperwork.

Talk to all of your friends and neighbors for a lawyer recommendation. Tell them you are looking to recover funds from a very large loan you made to someone. Contact each recommendation and ask what they would need to represent you. Make sure the initial consultation is free *before* you meet face-to-face with a lawyer.
