How to surf?

I really want to learn to surf, but where I live people dont surf even thought I live on an island, I dont know how to practise or how I can learn.

Please help!

Well, if the island is in Lake Michigan or the Dead Sea, you are just out of luck. Where do you live? We would all like to help, but without that information there's not much we can do. But if you are at home in the ocean, have a surfboard, and go by the trial and error method (I know it worked for me 40+ years ago), you will eventually learn how to surf. And, since nobody else on your island surfs, you will be the best surfer on the island.

get a board and go out there practice paddling and catching waves first then worry about standing up later on

you should go to a surf school school! i did when i waz little and im a pro now. i live in hawaii!
