How to surf.?

OK. i know how to surf, but i can only surf going to the shore. how do i turn so i can ride the wave, like to get barrelled or the line???

Lean your weight into the direction you wish to turn.

ok if ur can't even turn ur not even close enough to get a barrel, u put ur back foot on the end and the nose of the board will kindof lift out of the water then shift ur back foot to wich evr way u want to go then u will ride down the line but u wont get barreld

when your paddling to catch the wave, go at an angle so that your already in the right position to ride the face of the wave, so when you stand up you're still heading towards the beach but at an angle so you get to ride the wave for longer. hope that helps =)
