Question:

How to tackle better in football ?

I'm 13 and i'm very small for my age .

I'm 4"11 at 87 lbs .

And mostly everyone is bigger than me on the team except for maybe 5 people .

I did tackle someone that's like 5"7 tho or something .

But it's very hard for me , any help ?

  1. work on ur squat alot so then despite ur size youll have good enough springs to wrap up and stay low with your head out front and im guessing ur pretty fast so with enough speed u should be able to take him down


  2. bulk up.your short stature will help you bring down that hulk.

  3. hit them low and hang on for your life and while your hanging on try to bring them down plus come at them with full force

  4. You can use your height to your advantage because you'll be able to get lower than the guy you are tackling. Always arm wrap the opponent and use your lower legs to thrust into his center mass, waist or lower to knock him off balance, if they're still upright you have to push continually into their body and knock them to the ground.  

  5. Hit them by the knees.

  7. Hit them low. Just like chopping down a tree. Play without fear.

  8. Stay low.  Always try to wrap them up or grab hold.  Hang on and  drive as hard as you can

  9. If you've got the form down (stay lower than the runner, helmet on the ball, wrap with your arms around the legs, etc.), then just hitting the gym and building muscle and strength will make a huge difference.

  10. Get your head in front!!!! and wrap them up! they can't run without their legs.

    If the tackle is straight up then you never slow down and wait for them you can slow down a little to anticipate a move but never wait for them to come to you. You run through them.

  12. work out your upper body arms and chest and wrap their legs up so that you can keep them there and just in case you can't bring him down he will be stuck there until one of your teammates come over and finishes the job off so just workout your upper body and get the legs

    Technically, ur supposed to plant ur facemask into their shoulder pads, wrap up, throw ur hips into the hit, then drive ur feet until the runner is terminated. But the fundamentals of tackling will be taught by coaches. So when that topic comes up, pay close attention.

  17. Bulk up and aim for the knees to the waist. They can't go anywhere without their waist.
