How to tactfully bribe someone, on the behalf of a toddler?

Question

I have slacked on applying to preschools for my kid. Apparently there are 2-3 year waiting lists in our city. Everywhere either has a really long waiting list, or has open slots but makes me feel dirty to be in.

How can I ask if there's a way for us to be bumped up to the top of the list?? They have to accept some kind of

"gifts", right? I don't want to p**s them off and lose our chance of getting in at all.

The lack of quality daycare spots are few and far, without a long waiting list.

I work in a daycare where our list is also very long. Sorry, but, as a reputable quality daycare..bribes are never taken.

It's suggested here to put your child on the list as soon as you find out your pregnant..even then, unfortunately..many people still have to wait.

Have your tried licensed home cares?

Geez, I think people are taking this a little bit too far! Why on earth do you have to put your kids into a pre school with a waiting list? Why do those schools make you feel dirty? That is just rediculous to me! Good old fashioned pre school got me by just fine...I even graduated from college! WOW

Save your money & accept you screwed up by leaving it too late.

You can't 'buy' everything for your child - you need to be responsible.
