  1. stick to BMX

  2. You could get your Jaw dislocated.

If your mouth hangs open, an elbow to the side of the face could easily dislodge it.

Then you have to ask ur mate to push your jaw back into position.

---> don't fight with your jaw hanging out.

---> push your chin towards your chest.

---> move your head all the time

  3. We do this drill with advanced students in Hakko Ryu Jiu-Jitsu (since 1968).

We slap the face before we go into a technique.  Uke (the receiver) needs to puff up his cheeks with air to cushion the slap.

The slap is done gradually and built up over time, so over a period of months if not years, you slowly develop a resistance to being startled when struck in the face.

So puffing up your cheeks with a quick breath of air helps cushion a blow to the face.

  4. well first thin first. you need to get to a gym. you'll find these answers there

  5. Yes. you can die in MMA, just look at how these guys go at it, I can't believe someone has not died, I am just amazed, I know they will stop it the second that a guy has had enough.

No way I would do this kind of fighting. You gonna get hit everywhere and places you don't wanna think about, While I have the highest respect for these guys, I would not recommend to anyone to get involved in this sport, Sorry

  6. Haha , I like how you say your own question is a great question that no one asks. This is actually not that great of a question. When you get hit in the face , you must suck it up and use your mental strenght to remember what you got in the fight for , what the consequences of winning and loosing are. Thats the  fighters heart people talk about. And as a professional fighter you tend to build up a pain tollerancy a punch to the mouth now wont be any wear near as bad 4-5 months from now if u keep doing some hard contact sparing , you just gotta get used to the shock and pain , and learn to shake it off quick and not panic.

You can die doing recreational swimming , or driving , or taking the bus. You are fighting in a cage , ofcource there is a chance of life threating injury just like there is with any other sport. But statisticly speaking , UFC has had no deaths or carrear threatning injuiries since the begining.

  7. Try this simple drill from Systema:

Get your partner to slowly punch your face: SLOWLY AND LIGHT! Do not move your face away until there is contact. If your partner sees you are moving to soon, he should correct you. But on the moment of contact, move away. Try to move about the same speed as he is punching. Slowly increase this drill for faster pace and harder contact. He should be punching your cheek. Keep your breathing smooth and your demeanour calm. If you start freaking, you need to slow down again.

Also, get a mouth piece, head gear, put on gloves and spar, spar, spar. Start out slow and easy. Learn to keep your guard up and your chin tucked. Increase pressure when you get comfy. Challenge yourself more and more, learn to control your breathing and keep cool.

As for your second question, there has only ever been  two deaths in MMA. Both of them were in less than professional environments AFAIK.

The chances of getting killed from a knockout are not impossible, but not likely. Unless you have some kind of problem. If you are thinking of going pro I would advise seeing a doctor and getting x-rays on your head if you are concerned. If you ever do get knocked out, it's always good to see the doctor after. Be aware of yourself, that's the main thing.

    Good luck.

  8. anything is possible man, now a days mma rules ensure the saftey of their fighters. and its called "chin" its a boxing term that means the amount of hits you can take to the head without losing consiousness. chris leben for example.

but for you. i think you should take boxing before you leap to mma.

a kick or a knee to the head is a whole different feeling than that of a punch. so its good to start with basics and get a feel for it.

but best of luck in your weapon of choice.

  9. You just gotta get over it if your gonna do mma your gonna get punched and I dont think anyone can die from getting punched... unless your fighting someone like chuck liddell or wanderlei silva then you might die!! lol
