How to take a sound off a youtube video without downloading?

Question

Is there a way to change the coding of a youtube video so you can't hear it? I want to post one, but keep my profile song on, since it's the same as the song on the video, so when someone stops it, the song will keep going. I'd like to trick them. >=]

As mentioned, Audacity would be the best program for this.

Alternatively, if you have Windows, you can use sound recorder (a much more basic program than Audacity) by going to Start>All Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Sound Recorder

yes... download the clip then convert it to mpg video with sound filtered out... then re-upload..

you can also extract the sound out to mp3 to set as your profile song.
