How to take a train to L.A. DOWNTOWN?

Hi

I have a friend who live in San Francisco.

Ridgewood Drive, Castro Valley, CA 94552

And he wants to go to L.A. downtown by train.

How can he go to L.A. downtown by train ?

And which station he has to take off when he arrives at L.A. Downtown?

  1. well from the Bay area (this means either Oakland basically

    you have a choice of a direct train called the Starlight

    to Los Angeles,  (this train operates via the coast

    and there is only one station downtown Los Angeles

    thats union station

    now the problem with this train it tends to run late so late

    its nickname the starlight (sometimes runs 4 to 12 hours late!)

    another option is take the San Joaquin trains to Bakersfield

    then the bus to Los Angeles

    both will end up downtown Los Angeles

    (usually more on time routing this train operates via

    the central valley)
