  1. If you can get it back into the nest, do so as quickly as possible. Most birds actually have a very very poor sense of smell, and wont even know you've touched the baby.

If this is impossible, call your local wildlife rescue (calling animal control can direct you to them as well). Most places tend to hvae nice little old ladies that will take in injured or abandoned animals and raise them to be released in the wild.

I would not recommend trying to care for the bird yourself, as it will most likely end up with death. IF you can't get the bird back into the nest, keep him warm, away from any drafts or direct sunlight until you can get him to a wildlife rescue volunteer.

  2. i suggest you take it to animal services because my friend had a bird with a broken leg and he took it to school and my teacher recommended that he take it to the nurse because he knows nothing about raising birds. if you want to keep it, i suggest u do some research on it to help keep it happy and healthy.

  3. XD,same thing happened to me,it was depressing though cause the bird ended up dieing because of a sickness or something.anyways what i would do is put it in a cage or a box on top of a blanket.feed it plenty of water and seeds, until its ready to fly again.

  4. If you are asking this you ARE NOT QUALIFIED to care for a baby bird.

    Call a rehab facility.

IF IT IS WILD LEAVE IT IN THE WILD.

  5. Put it back in the next if you can.  It's an old wives tale that the mother will ignore it once it's been touched by a human.

  6. If the bird is fully feathered, it is most likely a fledgling and has left the nest on it's own and it's parents are caring for it. It is normal for birds to leave the nest before they can fly.   You need to replace it where you found it..preferably in a scrub or tree so it is relatively safe from predators, and the parents should come back to feed it.  If it is unfeathered...then look for a nest and if you can find it...replace it into the nest.  Do not worry about your scent being on the chick..birds have a very poorly developed sense of smell and will NOT reject a baby that has been touched.  If you cannot find a nest, get the bird to a local wildlife rehab for it's best chance of survival.  Also, keep in mind, it is illegal for you to try and raise this bird on your own.  Look for a rehab here:

  7. go to www.starlingtalk.net and you will find the info needed to care for the birds.  You can feed soaked dog food/cat food on the end of a stir stick/straw and starling talk has the recipe you will need....

  8. The best thing to do would to be to try to put it back in the nest.  The mother might reject it if your scent is all over it, but maybe not.  If you ever find baby birds that fall from the nest again, be careful not to touch them, scoop them up with something and put them back in the nest.
