how do you take care of a southeastern five lined skink? like wat do you feed it and how do you give it water and wat to put it in pleas help!!

  1. i have 2 skinks true fire skink and a red sided skink both are about a foot long so id have to say you feed then crickets id get the small ones and as for the habitaqt  i have eco earth its like dirt  get it at the pet store in blocks add water  drain and its good to go they love diggin in it and i have a hollow log  some fake leaves that hang and a water dish they can soak in mine are alot bigger than yours but its the same consept i had  one that was like urs a five lined grass lizard is what they called it so ull be fine with what ive told you good luck. try this website  to get more on it

Sometimes they are called the blue tailed skink. or the red tailed skink.  Did you buy it or catch.  They live in the eastern U.S. and parts of Canada.  A regular 20 gal. tank with lid would be adequate.  Remember they like it moist.  I would definitely add a sterile log cave to hide in.  And then I would never put males together they are very Territorial.  I would purchase some ORGANIC potting soil.   and then a few stones.  If you bring anything from outside in your back yard remember it could have bacteria, parasites, and possibly been exposed to some kind of pesticide.  I recommend buying it, unless you know how to clean everything properly.  I would feed them crickets bought at a pet store,  feed the crickets gut load.  Then just before you feed the cricket to the lizard coat them in "Reptical"  You definitely want to check out wikipedia.org .  Type in Five-Lined Skink
