How to take earpads out of a RED HiFi?

I just got a new RED HiFi helmet. I am planning on wearing a beanie and my goggles underneath the helmet and want to take the earpads out for a better fit, but cannot seem to get them out. I went to the RED website (redprotection.com) and it wouldnt give me any other info besides that they are the quick clip earpads, which I knew already. If anyone has this helmet please tell me how to get the earpads out beside forcing them out. Thanks.

  1. You know, I read somewhere that if you wear a beanie under your helmet, the helmet isn't as protective. I don't know why, but it probably is.

  2. I have a Giro helmet with Tune-Ups...same concept and there quick clip also...put the helmet upside down and pull on the ear pad upwards grabbing it towards the base at both ends and with quite a bit of force it should pop out...i was afraid to break mine too  when i was pulling on it but seen the guy in the store do it.
