  1. i have turtles - there are proper turtle / tortoise pet products available. You will get tortoise food which is small 1 cm green sticks, even tortoise eyedrops, shell strenthener etc

until then, feed the tortoise green veg, tomatoes and mutton ( but mutton will make the house stink )

  2. i think it is more than likely if the tortoise does not hibernate that it is a sulcata or red footed tortoise, but really you do need to know what type of tortoise it is as they have different diets and care needs, here are some sites that will tell you hoe to care for which ever type of tortosie you are getting,  http://www.tortoisetrust.org/    http://www.slowcoach.org.uk/slocare.html   http://www.chelonia.org/care.htm, best of luck honey hope you find what you are looking for

  3. I don't know what kind of tortoise it is but i've got sulcatas google them and compare. Sulcata tortoises eat romaine letuuce and mostly dandalion leaves

  4. My daughter and I had a tortoise about 3 years ago and they are fun pets.  They will generally eat ANY fruit and veggies (just don't feed them iceberg lettuce..no nutrition).  A hide box is a good idea..they like to sleep there.  I'm so jealous.. I want another tortoise soooo bad!!!  Have fun!!!!
