As we know this plane is also a ship, however when i attempt to fly by DHC2, the game starts at a runway. So i cannot take off.

  1. Slew to the water by pressing y+crt and move with the arrow keys.

  2. what you can do is after you started the game is click  world, then map,  in which you can change the altittude and speed of the aircraft

  3. Select a seaplane base instead of a land-based airport.  They appear as anchors on sectional charts.

  4. Technically, it is not a "ship", it is a seaplane or a float plane. Anyway, go to the options menu and change the aircraft location to a seaplane base. Friday Harbor, Washington is one. Juneau, Alaska and Ketchikan, Alaska are two more (FSX has lots of them).  When you take off, apply full npower with full back stick to get the plane up on the "step", then hold neutral stick for a few seconds to allow the floats to plane on top of the water, then gently apply a small amount of back pressure to lift off. When you land, keep a level attitude and control your descent rate with engine power.
