How to take off that black metal detection tag

ok i just bought these sneakers and the idiot behind the cash register forgot to take that black thing that sets of the metal detectors i dont know what its called but instead of just going back to have them take it off i was wondering if there was a way you can take it off???

there is a way but its kind of complicated. if you want to try you can. these things have two glass tubes full of ink in them. one blue and one yellow. to avoid breaking them and getting ink everywhere you want to melt the plastic with a lighter that allows you to force the two pieces apart without breaking the tubes

So how did you get it out of the store without setting off the metal detector???  You couldn't, which means you didn't buy the shoes! You are just trying to get someone to aid you in keeping stolen shoes.

um you usualy cant cus when you open it ink comes out so people cant take it off at the stores.  just go back.....unless you stole them !

You're referring to a Sensormatic ink tag, which they're supposed to remove at the register using a special clamp.

Yes, the idiot cashiers are always forgetting these things. Take the items back - with your receipt - and have them remove the tag.

Last time I asked in a store they used  real strong magnet to remove them, maybe get a magnet from  hard drive and try that.

are you sure you didnt steal the shoes?

and if not, are you sure it itsnt an ink tag?

There is no way, only the shop can take it off. They have to protect themselves from people like you.
