Question:

How to take sun-baked plastic off glass?

I'm renting a home that has a front door about four years old. Unfortunately the previous renters never took off the protective plastic coating on the glass window of the door and the sun has totally baked it on the glass. The plastic is flaking off in places but I'm still having lots of difficulty removing it! Does anyone know what can take if off? Scraping doesn't work. Perhaps some kind of solvent or something? Any tips would help! Thank you!

  1. try industrial strength acid =P

  2. You might try a product called goof-off no its no joke it is used to remove graffiti. If that does not work try some xylene, not sure if that's the correct spelling but use hand and eye protection because its some bad stuff. Good Luck

  3. acetone will soften plastic, will have no effect on glass.dont get on paint.
