How to take tax on cheques ?

im trying to figure out how much im getting on my cheque, and i dont know how to take off the tax, i live in winnipeg manitoba, so i just wanted to know if i make "X" ammount i take it and divide it? multiply? subtract? any help would be great thanks.

  1. If you are talking about a payroll cheque,  deductions are taken and you get a cheque for what is left over.

    The Gov't issues tax tables for the employer to take income tax, and UIC. and Canada Pension of your pay

    It is different amounts based on your projected yearly income.


  2. Go to this website, and enter your income information, location, etc, and it will tell you how much will be deducted.  From your income will come income tax, Employment insurance, and Canada Pension.
